Tanyosho pine is usually sold as a sheared round headed pine but developes into a large round headed multi trunked specimen.

Shrubs

This is a low spreading ground cover Manzanita. drought resistant evergreen.

Compact mid sized shrub. Prunes well if done when young. Can be allowed to get largemand open to show the branch structure.

This is an evergreen shrub that grows inn the 6-10' range depending on age. We like it pruned to open and expose the branches.

Medium sized deciduous shrub with showy spring and summer foliage. Attractive fall color.

Variegated form with purple and pink variegated leaves

Ceanothus is an evergreen shrub that, depending on the variety, grows from 1 to 10' tall. It is drought resistant. Spring flowers.

Evergreen shrub with bright gold new growth. Slow growing to 8' x8'.


Grey Gleam is a compact upright Juniper slow growing to 6 to 8' and slowly larger.

Bidens is a 2 to 4 year perennial with a very long bloom season. Likes sun to part sun


This is notably hardier and longer blooming than the old fashoned variety. Blooms from late spring through end of summer

Echium is a 3-6 year perennial with spectacular spikes of purple flowers in the summer.

True geranium Roxanne is our favorite. Heavy blooming and long lived under most conditions. Low spreading growth.

Hibiscus mochutos. Has very large flowers on a plant that is cut to the ground in the winter.

Iberis is a low compact perennial that blooms very early Spring and starts in even in the winter here. Shear after flood fades.

Lamium is a low spreading ground cover for light to medium shade.

Heavy blooming Lavender. typical life span of 3 to 5 years depending on watering. longer living if in low water conditions.

Certain Ivy geraniums make great color ground covers in the sum. Pick single forms for best results.

Osteospermum has developed into a long blooming 2 to 4 years color perennial. Usually sold in 4" pots or #1 sized containers.

This is another spectacular 2-4 year color perennial. Bloomms almost year round in our climate zone.
